See You Yesterday (2019), directed by Stefon Bristol, blends a story of police brutality with sci-fi themes.

The Hate U Give, (2018), directed by George Tillman Jr. and based on the novel by Angie Thomas, depicts a young woman torn between two worlds after her childhood best friend is murdered by a police man.
